Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

An Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) Programme will be organized at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha during December 23-28, 2024.

Academic programme

There will be courses in Foundations, Linear Algebra and Real Analysis. The courses will be taught by highly experienced faculty in MTTS teaching methodology.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students with mathematics who are completing their second year in the academic session 2023-24 are eligible for this camp. Students from Odisha and those from neighbouring states will be given preference.

Selection

• The selection will be on merit, based on consistent and good academic records and recommendation by a mathematics teacher.
• All the participants will be provided with local hospitality and study material. Accommodation will be provided for the outstation participants.
• Outstation participants will also be provided with Government (non-AC) bus fare/Sleeper class train fare which ever is the least on production of original tickets.

About the Institute

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a household name in the education sector, has become a sought-after destination in India for professional studies. KIIT started in 1992-93 as an Industrial Training Institution. However, 1997 is considered the base year for the University as undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering, Management and Computer Applications were added. Our department offers post graduate (M.Sc. in Mathematics with Data Science) and Ph.D. programmes. The department also supports all the engineering and science departments by offering core and interdisciplinary courses for under graduate (B.Tech.) and post graduate (M.Tech./M.Sc./Ph.D.) programmes. At present the Department of Mathematics have 47 faculty members having their degrees from IITs, NITs, reputed national universities, and abroad. The Department has 40 research scholars working in the diverse areas of Pure & Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science.
