Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

The MTTS Trust receives applications from students from a large number of colleges and institutions across the country for participating in the programmes organized by the Trust. A large portion of the applications come from colleges that are underprivileged in regard to academic and geographical considerations. However, only a minute fraction of these applicants can be selected and trained through the programmes currently run by the Trust, although students from remote areas and girl students are given special attention during selections. From the year 2023, the Trust run a pilot project titled “MTTS Overture” in which two-day local level training camps were organized in several colleges situated mostly in remote places. In each of these camps, about fifty students studying in colleges in the localities were trained by two experienced MTTS faculty, and two very short courses were run exposing the young undergraduate students to MTTS learning methodology and of various resources for self-learning. It was evident from the feedback received from the students and local teachers participating in these camps that the programme was immensely successful in introducing subjects like Real Analysis, Linear Algebra and foundations in right perspective.

In view of the success of the pilot project, the Trust has decided to run the programme “MTTS Overture” organizing two-day camps at interior places across the country. Following is the list of programmes organized by the Trust in 2023.
