Details

A Pedagogical Training for Mathematics Teachers (PTMT) Programme will be organized at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, West Bengal during March 04 – 09, 2024.

Participants will be provided with local hospitality. Accommodation for outstation participants shall be arranged at the guest house outside of RKMVCC Campus (on sharing basis). Outstation participants will be provided Government bus fare/3 Tier AC /Sleeper class train fare whichever is the least on production of original tickets. (At most TA allotted for per candidate is 2000/-).

Academic programme

Theme of the programme would be Complex Analysis.

Eligibility

Any mathematics teacher, teaching in UG/PG departments. Preference will be given to young and teachers from West Bengal and neighbouring states. Also, full time research scholars/post-doctoral fellows from the state/nearby states may apply. Preference will be given to young teachers.

Selection will be based on the data provided in the application form. Only selected candidates will be informed of their selection.

About the Institute

Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, founded in 1963, is an integral part of the Ramakrishna Mission. The college was graded with Grade A++ by NAAC in 2023. The UGC conferred it the College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) status and the status of an Autonomous College. The college houses Swami Vivekananda Research Centre for Multidisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences & Social Sciences for research. The PG Department of Mathematics started PhD program since 2019. A legacy of deep-rooted research, varied research projects and numerous publications mark the College as an outstanding one in India (NIRF Ranking in 2023: 08).

How to reach the venue

The nearby main railway station is Sealdah/Kolkata/Howrah. Those who will come at Howrah/Kolkata station are requested to come Sealdah station first by bus/taxi available at Howrah station. Then from Sealdah station, local trains are available to reach Khardaha station. The college is known as VC college by local people. It is 5-minute walking distance from Khardaha station.
