Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

An Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) Programme will be organized at Department of Mathematics, Mangalore University, Mangalore,Karnataka during March 13-March 18, 2023.

Academic Programme

Three fundamental courses in Mathematics will be taught by highly experienced faculty in MTTS teaching methodology. The aim of the instructions is not to give routine lectures but to stimulate the participants to think and discover mathematical results.

Eligibility

Second year undergraduate students with Mathematics as one of their main subjects. Students from the Karnataka and neighboring states will be given preference.

Selection

• The selection will be on merit, based on consistent and good academic records and recommendation by a mathematics teacher.

• Sleeper class train fare or state bus fare and accommodation will be provided to the selected non local participants. Food will be provided to all the participants.

• While the students report at the programme venue, they should bring a bonafide certificate from their institute and undertaking form signed by the student and parent in the format available at the page http://mtts.org.in/downloads

Instructions for the selected applicants

1. Email has been sent to all the selected applicants. They need to follow all the instructions given in the email.
2. Selected students may obtain a bonafide certificate in the format available at https://mtts.org.in/downloads/forms-and-formats-for-students
3. They may also produce an undertaking while reporting for the programme at venue.
4. They should arrange for their travel in their own. Students other than local students will be provided accommodation in the college hostel.
