Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

An Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) Programme will be organized at Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Srinagar during July 10–18, 2023.

Academic programme

Three fundamental courses in Mathematics will be taught by highly experienced faculty in MTTS teaching methodology. The aim of the instructions is not to give routine lectures but to stimulate the participants to think and discover mathematical results.

Eligibility

Second year undergraduate students with Mathematics as one of their main subjects. Students from Jammu and Kashmir and the neighboring states will be given preference.

• After logging into the site using the OTP received at the given email address, select the programme Initiation into Mathematics 2023, Jammu & Kashmir
  

• Recommendations by teachers are also to be submitted at https://4dspace.mtts.org.in

Selection

• The selection will be on merit, based on consistent and good academic records and recommendation by a mathematics teacher.

• Sleeper class train fare or state bus fare and accommodation will be provided to the selected non local participants. Food will be provided to all the participants.

• While the students report at the programme venue, they should bring a bonafide certificate from their institute and undertaking form signed by the student and parent in the format available at the page http://mtts.org.in/downloads

Instructions for the selected

To participate in the programme, the selected students must confirm their participation by sending an email to the local coordinator Dr. N. A. Lone (nisarsultan@gmail.com) latest by June 27, 2023. In case of any difficulty, they may also call him on 9906721888.  In case the selected students do not confirm their participation during this period, their  selection will stand canceled automatically and no further communication will be entertained.
