Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

An Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) programme will be organized at NIT Silchar, Assam – 788010 during July 14 — 19, 2025.

Academic programme

There will be courses in Foundations, Linear Algebra and Real Analysis. The courses will be taught by highly experienced faculty in MTTS teaching methodology.

Eligibility

Second year undergraduate students (i.e., those who have completed or are completing their fourth semester in the current academic year) with mathematics as one of their main subjects are eligible. Students from the north-east region will have preference.

Registration Fee

There is no registration fee for the programme.

Selection

The selection will be on merit, based on consistent and good academic records and recommendation by a mathematics teacher. The list of selected candidates will be posted on the MTTS webpage by Wed, June 25th, 2025. Only selected candidates will be informed of their selection.

All the participants will be provided with local hospitality and study material. Accommodation will be provided for the outstation participants.

Outstation participants will also be provided with Government bus fare/Sleeper class train fare on production of original tickets.

Established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Assam, NIT Silchar is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India imparting education in Science, Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management.
