About the Online Foundation Course in Mathematics (OFCM)
The Online Foundation Course in Mathematics (OFCM) is a flagship initiative of the MTTS Trust. Launched in 2020, this annual program has successfully conducted six regional editions through 2025, bringing the acclaimed, interactive MTTS teaching methodology directly to students across the nation.
The curriculum is adapted from the core Foundation courses of the main MTTS programs. Each year, over 500 second- and third-semester undergraduate students are selected to participate through a rigorous national-level screening process.
OFCM 2026 Edition This year, the program will scale to host four simultaneous regional camps, admitting approximately 100 to 120 participants in each camp. To ensure an accessible yet immersive learning experience, the 2026 camps will be conducted online via Zoom and fully supported by interactive course management through the MTTS Classroom Moodle platform.
Academic Programme & Structure
The programme is structured as a focused short course covering the core foundations of mathematics: Logic, Sets, Functions, and Relations.
-
Duration & Schedule: Each camp consists of 12 instructional sessions, spanning from Sunday, 23rd August to Saturday, 5th September 2026. To give participants a brief rest, there will be no sessions on Friday, 28th August and Wednesday, 2nd September.
-
Timings: To ensure regular college schedules are not disrupted, all sessions will be conducted online starting at 5:30 PM IST.
-
Session Format: Each daily meeting features an interactive lecture (approx. 70 minutes) followed immediately by an intensive group discussion (approx. 45 minutes).
The MTTS Pedagogy
Moving away from conventional, passive online lecturing, the core objective of OFCM is to stimulate mathematical inquiry. Participants are guided to actively think, question, and discover mathematical ideas and results independently.
Faculty & Mentorship:
The instructional team comprises active mathematicians from premier institutions nationwide, selected for their deep commitment to teaching. To ensure personalized attention, each camp is supported by a dedicated team of experienced mentors—including MTTS alumni, researchers, and seasoned teachers—who facilitate and guide students through the daily group discussions.

My institute/college name is not listed in the application system. How do I apply?
You have two ways to solve this.
1) Add your institute at this page and then login once again to prepare and submit your application. You will see your institute also listed.
OR
2) Instead of searching for your institute name while filling your institute details in the 4dspace application form, you may manually type/enter your institute name with other details and proceed.
Will I get a certificate after completion of the OFCM programme?
We take attendance and your participation in the class interactions and discussion sessions very seriously. Students who complete all classes and discussion sessions will be given a participation certificate at the end of the programme.
What are requirements from my side to attend the OFCM programme?
To ensure seamless participation, all applicants must meet the following technical criteria:
-
Email Requirements: You must register using a personal email address ending strictly in @gmail.com. Please avoid using institutional or university email IDs (even those powered by Google Workspace), as backend security filters often block automated program communications and course invitations. This email will be used for all correspondence from the application phase until the conclusion of the programme.
-
Zoom Account: If selected, you will be required to create and log into a Zoom account using the exact same registered Gmail address.
-
Time Commitment & Internet Data: You must have access to a stable internet connection and be prepared to be online for at least 4 hours on each day of the programme.
-
Hardware & Environment: You may use a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Because the MTTS pedagogy is highly interactive, you will frequently be required to unmute your microphone to answer questions and participate actively in group breakout discussions. We strongly recommend attending sessions from a quiet, distraction-free environment.
Registration Fee
There is no registration or course fee for this programme.
Selection Process
-
Criteria: Selection will be strictly based on academic merit, demonstrated by a consistent and strong academic record, as well as the evaluation of recommendations submitted by your teachers.
-
Teacher Recommendations: It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that their teacher submits the recommendation form before the deadline.
-
Results Announcement: The list of selected candidates will be published on this webpage along with further registration guidelines. Only selected candidates will receive an official confirmation via email.
