PTMT Application Procedure

Applications for Pedagogical Training in Mathematics (PTMT) programmes are submitted online only, through our portal 5dspace. No hard copy needs to be posted to us. Please read this page and the page of the programme you are applying to completely before you begin; a programme’s own page may add requirements specific to it.

Before you apply

  • Check the eligibility conditions and the application window on the programme’s page. The form accepts applications only while the window is open.
  • Keep ready: a recent passport-style photograph (it is cropped to a square on screen), your institute’s name and address, your correspondence address, phone number(s), and details of your degrees, teaching experience and courses taught.
  • Your institute is chosen from the institute database on 5dspace. If it is not listed, use the Add it to the institute database link on the form, submit the institute, and then return to your application. An institute that has been submitted can be selected even before it is verified.

Steps

  1. Create an account or log in at 5dspace.mtts.org.in. Your name and e-mail address come from your account and cannot be edited in the application. (A name can be corrected through your Contact Profile, but only once.)
  2. Open the programme. Go to Academic Programmes, choose the PTMT programme, and click Apply.
  3. Fill in the application form. It asks for your photograph, personal details (title, gender, date of birth, designation), institute and correspondence address, phone numbers, academic and professional details, your teaching methods and expectations from the programme, and ticks against each requirement listed for the programme. If the programme asks for a recommendation, the recommender’s details are also requested.
  4. Save as a draft, if needed. You can save and return later, and edit the draft as often as you like until it is submitted. Your phone number, institute, correspondence address and photograph are remembered, so later applications are pre-filled.
  5. Review the final preview. It shows exactly how the application will appear in the PDF. Check every detail.
  6. Declare and submit. Tick the declaration and submit. A submitted application cannot be edited. The date, time and IP address of submission are recorded on it.
  7. Download your PDF. After submission you are given an application number (for example 26PTMT01-A0001) and a PDF copy of the application is generated for you to download from My PTMT Applications. Quote the application number in all correspondence about the programme.

After you apply

  • Track your applications at any time under My PTMT Applications on 5dspace.
  • Selection is done by the programme team after the window closes. The selection list is announced on the programme’s page.
  • Selected candidates must confirm their participation by the deadline stated in the programme announcement. The programme webpage will say how to confirm: either by e-mail to the address given on the programme webpage, quoting your full name and application number, or through 5dspace itself.
