Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

The Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) programme is a regional level camp organized under the aegis of the MTTS Trust. These regional camps are designed to provide opportunities to a larger number of students and run along the same lines as the annual summer camp. The intent is to stimulate participants to think and discover mathematical ideas on their own through highly experienced faculty.

An Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath)  Programme will be organized at Ram Chandra Uniyal Govt. P. G. College, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand during March 30 to April 04, 2026.

Academic Programme

The programme consists of three fundamental courses in mathematics. The aim is to:

• Expose bright young students to the excitement of doing mathematics.

• Promote independent mathematical thinking.

• Help participants gain confidence for self-study and advanced courses.

Eligibility

• Academic: Second-year undergraduate students currently in their 3rd or 4th semesters with mathematics as one of their main subjects.

• Regional: Students from Uttarakhand and its neighboring states will be considered.

• Preference: Given to students from regions not covered by previous InitMath camps in the 2025-26 period.

Application Procedure

• Portal: Applications must be submitted online at https://4dspace.mtts.org.in.

• Login: Use the OTP sent to your registered email address.

• Select “Initiation into Mathematics 2026, Uttarakhand”.

• Recommendations: Ask your teachers to submit their recommendations via the same portal.

Selection and Support

• Selection Criteria: Based on merit, consistent academic records, and teacher recommendations.

• Notification: Only selected candidates will be informed and the list will be posted on the MTTS website.

• Support: Non-local participants will be reimbursed for sleeper class train fare or non-AC state bus fare and provided accommodation.

• Food: Provided to all participants.
