Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

An Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath)  Programme will be organized at the DHSK College, Dibrugarh, Assam, during January 05–10, 2026.

Food will be provided to all, and accommodation to outstation participants. Subject to availability of fund, travel by sleeper class train or (non-AC) state bus may be reimbursed, possibly with a cap.

Eligibility

Second year undergraduate students with mathematics as one of their main subjects are eligible. Students from the north-east region will have preference.

Selection

The selection will be on merit, based on consistent and good academic records and recommendation by a mathematics teacher.

Registration Fee

There is no registration fee for the programme.

About the Institute

DHSK College, Dibrugarh was established on 15th June, 1945, with affiliation to the Calcutta University, to cater to the needs of higher education in upper Assam. Later in 1948 it was affiliated to the Gauhati University. The college was instrumental for conceptualization and subsequent establishment of Dibrugarh University in 1965, and the College, at present takes pride in its affiliation to this University. A concrete mission of this institution is to transform the younger citizens of this remote part of our country into responsible individuals.

The vision of the College is Cultivation of Knowledge, Skill and Attitude in every individual through a Curriculum relevant to the moral, cultural, socio-economic and ethnic diversity. The College encourages a sense of belonging and ownership among all the stakeholders and a gender friendly ambiance in the campus.

The Department of Mathematics, DHSK COLLEGE, Dibrugarh was established in 1950. Since its inception, the department is imparting quality education and a significant number of Alumni have excelled in diverse fields contributing immensely to- wards the well-being of the society. Currently, the department runs a post-graduate program in Mathematics, apart from its undergraduate programs. The department also houses a small library with good number of books and internet facility for the students.
