After attending a 2-week course on Foundations in the MTTS/ Mini MTTS camps, almost all participants so far have experienced a change in their attitude, problem solving abilities and logical and analytical thinking . They also acquire a high level of confidence for self-study. With the aim of transferring these positive changes to many more, MTTS Trust is planning to organize Regional Level Online Foundation Courses based on ” A Foundation Course in Mathematics” ; book by Ajit Kumar, Kumaresan and Bhaba Kumar Sarma.
The Trust recently organized MTTS 2020 summer camps online and observed from the feedback that it was very successful. The decision of MTTS Trust to organize online camps targeting students from various regions in the country is encouraged by this experience. As of now, the Trust is planning to conduct 6 Regional Camps on Foundations.
Each such camp will have about 90 students (which we may go up subject to technical feasibility) as participants. Like in actual MTTS camps, after each session we wish to have `online group discussions’. Each group may consist of about 5-10 students.
There are students who have problems with English as a medium of instruction. So, in regional camps, the Trust is especially looking for people of the region who can serve as Tutors and who can communicate and clear the doubts in the regional language in the discussion rooms, if required.
To mentor the groups, the Trust is soliciting the support of former participants of miniIMTTS, MTTS, PTMT as well as teachers to serve as tutors.
