The Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath), erstwhile known as Mini-MTTS Programme, is a one-week MTTS programme organized by the MTTS Trust for second year (3rd/4th semester) undergraduate Mathematics Students. A number of such programmes are held across the country to introduce the student to MTTS methodology of learning with short courses in Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Foundations, etc.
The Mini-MTTS programme was introduced in 2010 in order to provide opportunities to a large number of students at regional levels. Prof. Kumaresan, in a meeting held during International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) at Hyderabad in August 2010, made an appeal to mathematics community to organize such mini camps in the line of Level O of the MTTS Programme.
Proposals for organizing an InitMath programme may be submitted online at this link.
For a given financial year, proposals should be submitted by the month of May. The programmes will be held during the period September – March.
Proposals in which the organizing institution offer supports, especially in kind like free accommodation for participants and resource persons, are always helpful for the Trust in organizing larger number of programmes in the country.
