Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme

34th Mathematics Training and Talent Search  (MTTS) Annual Summer Camp will take place at three venues during May-June 2026.

There are three levels in this Programme: Level O, Level I and Level II. Three camps will be conducted for Level O and one each for Levels I and II.

• Level O : There will be courses in Foundations, Linear Algebra, Analysis, and Number Theory/Group Theory
• Levels I and II : There will be courses in Algebra, Analysis, Topology and Linear Algebra.

The faculty for the programme will be active mathematicians from leading institutions in the country with strong commitment to teaching. The aim of the instruction is not to give routine theorem-proof style lectures but to stimulate the participants to think and discover mathematical results on their own.

Eligibility

• Level O: 2nd year (3rd/4th Semester) undergraduate students with mathematics as one of the main/major subjects.
• Level I: 3rd year (5th/6th Semester) undergraduate students with mathematics as one of the main/major subjects.
• Level II: 1st year (1st/2nd Semester of MSc) postgraduate students with mathematics as one of the main/major subjects.

Application Procedure

• The selection will be on merit, based on consistent and good academic records and recommendation by a mathematics teacher closely acquainted with the candidate.

• After logging into the site using the OTP received at the given email address, select the programme MTTS Annual Summer Camp 2026 (MTTS2026).
• Recommendations by teachers are also to be submitted at https://4dspace.mtts.org.in
• Candidates selected for the programme will be reimbursed sleeper class return train fare or non-AC government bus fare and will be provided free board and lodging for the duration of the programme.

MTTS Programme as Summer Internship

The MTTS Summer Camp is a nationally recognized programme aimed at nurturing mathematical talent and preparing students for higher studies, research, and analytically demanding careers. These camps are a four-week intensive residential academic training programme, which is equivalent in scope and rigor to an academic internship.

During this period, the participant undergoes structured and rigorous training in advanced undergraduate mathematics through lectures, problem-solving sessions, seminars, guided self-study, and close academic mentoring. The programme emphasizes conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, independent problem-solving, and mathematical communication, which are core components of an academic internship.

In view of the above, several institutions considered the annual summer camp conducted by the Mathematics Training & Talent Search (MTTS) Trust as an academic internship for their students who participated in the programme, in the last few years.

Participants who successfully complete the MTTS summer programme will receive a participation certificate. They can request an internship certificate by paying a nominal fee.

Instructions for the selected applicants

1. Emails have been sent to the selected applicants, and it should reach them latest by 9th March 2025 evening. If they do not receive our emails, they may download the selection letter by logging in to the online application system https://4dspace.mtts.org.in/otp-login.php?login_mode=pgm_appln using the same email address they gave in the online application
2. Selected applicants must confirm their participation. Confirmation process will be open from 03 April 2025 (11:00 AM) to 15 April 2025 (11:00 PM). They may access the confirmation system logging in to the online application system.
3. The confirmed applicants will receive emails from the centre co-ordinators towards the end of April 2025.
4. Those who decide to participate are advised to reserve their train/bus births in advance without waiting for the confirmation process to open. This is to avoid any last minute issue of not getting your reservations confirmed.
