MTTS Trust announces the Online Foundation Course in Mathematics for 2021. Like last year, there will be six regional online training camps for second year undergraduate students of Mathematics covering the entire country. OFCM-2020, which was held during 4th — 24th October, 2020, was attended by more than four hundred students many of whom were selected for the main summer camps of MTTS Programme held during June-July this year.
There will twelve sessions spread over about three weeks, four sessions in a week, one on Sunday and three in the afternoons of alternate weekdays so that there is no clash with regular classes. Each session, organized on Zoom platform, will be of about two-and-a-half-hour duration.
About the programme
“Foundation” is a unique course taught in MTTS Programmes to initiate the students to some fundamental topics of Mathematics including Logic, Sets, Functions and Equivalence Relations as components. After attending a 2-week course on Foundations in the MTTS Programmes, almost all participants so far have experienced a change in their attitude, problem solving abilities and logical and analytical thinking. They also acquire a high level of confidence for self-study to undertake courses in higher mathematics. The objective of the regional camps is to transfer the positive changes that the Foundation course brings to MTTS participants, to many more students across the country.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1) May I know the timings for the classes in weekdays?
In the afternoon, starting from or after 4 PM. The exact timings would be updated soon.
2) My B.Sc./B.A. 2nd Semester results have not been declared. How do I fill marks for papers from this course?
If it is not declared, you just mention the same in the form. You may give the number of papers for which results have been declared to be 0.
3) I do not study in the Semester System and I have Annual Examinations only. How do I fill up the form?
Write 0 as the number of papers in semester 1, and write “NA, Annual System” in semester 1 marks. You may also include the remark (under the field Anything else that is relevant you want to tell us in section Mathematics activities in the online application form) that you are following Annual System of examinations in the last field (in the last page of the form).
4) I do not study in the Semester System and I have Annual Examinations only. Results of my annual examination are not available / our annual examinations are not yet held. How do I fill up the form?
Write 0 as the number of papers in semester 1, and write “NA, Annual System” in semester 1 marks. Do the same for Semester 2. You may also mention these facts in the last field of the application form.
5. I passed Class 12 in 2020 and took admission in BSc/BA/IntMSc with Mathematics as one of the main subjects in the last academic year. My first semester exams are yet to be held due to the pandemic. How do I fill up the form?
Please see the answers given above.
5) I passed my Class 12 exam and took admission in B.Sc./B.A./Int.M.Sc. in 2019 or earlier. Am I eligible?
No, even if your second year exams are not held yet. Please check the eligibility criterion given above!
6) Do I have to put my marks as grades as appearing in my mark sheet or need I convert it to percentage?
You may do either. It will be better if you know how to convert it to percentage (out of 100) and enter the percentage.
7) I validated and submitted the application and locked it. But my teacher did not get the email from the system requesting for recommendation. What should be done?
It is quiet possible that our email was delivered, and it has gone to the spam/bulk folder of the teacher’s email inbox. Sometimes institutional email addresses (those other than gmail.com/yahoo.com etc) do not like emails coming from not so popular mail servers like ours. They simply reject our emails without citing any reason suspecting the emails to be spam mails.
You may follow the below given steps to solve the issue.
1) Request the teacher to check his spam/bulk email folder for our email with link to login.
2) If it is not there or the link has expired after its validity period, the teacher may use the same email address given by the student in the application form at the link “https://4dspace.mtts.org.in/otp-login.php?login_mode=pgm_appln_reco” and generate an OTP. He/she will be able to submit the recommendation after logging in using the email address and OTP.
3) If the teacher is not getting the OTP, the teacher may provide another email id to the student (preferably a non institute email id, say belonging to gmail.com or yahoo.com email service providers), student may unlock his/her application, change the teacher email id to the new one, and lock it again. The teacher may check for the OTP in the new email address after an hour.
