Abstract of the talk
The problem of Constructibility lies at the junction of Geometry and Algebra and can be seen as one early successful example towards a justification for the Algebraization of Geometry. Right from the historical perspectives of the drawing instruments like compass and dividers, the lecture will guide you to the domain of Field theory in Abstract Algebra, but avoiding jargon as far as possible, trying to make it totally comprehensible even for an advanced student of Higher Secondary level.
