Aims and Objectives
The Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme (MTTS) has turned out to be very successful over last two decades and has motivated a large number of students to pursue a career in mathematics. We believe that a large number of students would be benefited if we acquaint mathematics teachers with the methodology adopted in MTTS Programme. The Pedagogical Training for Mathematics Teachers (PTMT) attempts to familiarize mathematics teachers, teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with the methods followed in MTTS Programme. Faculty well-versed with MTTS programme will share the pedagogy of teaching mathematics with participants. The workshop will concentrate at most on two subjects of relevance to undergraduate courses. Participants will be asked to give seminars on a topic related to the themes of the workshop. Resource people will make observations, suggestions and give pedagogical tips to enhance their teaching. Their strengths and weaknesses will be pointed out. Common difficulties observed in the themes of the workshop will be pointed out and suggestions to overcome them will be presented by the Faculty.
